Whether you just spent a weekend in the sun, or you a weekend full of events that required heat styling, your hair might need a bit of a break! It is always good to treat yo’ self to some nice hair treatments and care after a long weekend of fun to make sure your locks are ready for the next time you put them through the ringer! As we step into Spring and Summer it is officially party time, so we thought we would share our hair care tips for keeping your hair healthy pre and post fun weekend events!
PREP
If possible, the week leading up to your weekend plans, try not to over wash your hair! Let it get nice and dirty and rock the messy bun. This is actually super good for your hair to nourish itself in its natural oils When you finally do wash your hair it will feel so good and extra silky and healthy! If you are going to be applying heat over your weekend or any sort of crazy color you want to be sure that your hair is extra moisturized, especially if you will be in the sun! Applying some coconut oil from your ears down and throwing your hair up in bun for a few hours before your final wash will help give your ends a boost of moisture!
DURING
f the weather is nice, your event will most likely take place outside in the sun at this time of year! Don’t forget that your scalp and hair get effected by the sun just like your skin. Putting sunscreen on your part in your hair and drinking tons of water throughout the day if you are at a music festival can save your hair from the sun damage. Trust us, you do not want a sunburned scalp!
AFTER
Time to refresh your hair! Before you hop in the shower, if possible, try and brush through your hair while it is dry to comb through excess product. When in the shower, let your conditioner sit in your hair for a few minutes, and then comb it through with a wide tooth comb. This will make the after-shower process so much easier! In the days after your weekend, be sure to apply a deep conditioning treatment to your hair once or twice to restore it’s moisture and don’t be afraid to let your hair get dirty and have it nourish itself in its natural oils! I mean don’t we all want our hair too look as healthy as Selena Gomez’s in her Pantene ad?

Earlier in the week we brought you our current favorite celebrity hair cuts of the moment, and today it is time for our favorite celebrity color of the moment. Spring color is having a major moment in hair and we are excited to dive head first and show you our favorites! What better away to start off the new season than with a fresh, new color?
NUDE BLONDE
This new blonde trend works best on those that have a neutral or golden skin tone. A cool skin tone paired with this hair color could wash you out. While this look might seem sweet and innocent, the monochromatic look created with your hair and skin is actually quit edgy! We love this color on Amanda Seyfried!
RICH BROWN
Brown is a shade that anybody can pull off! Finding the right tone is fairly simple, and rich tones suit those with fair to golden complexions the best. Adding elements of rich, milk chocolate highlights in a very subtle way can really liven up the hair and make it pop against your skin. Brown is a classic shade, and we are obsessed with the way that beauty, Emily Ratajkowski, wears her rich brown locks!
RED HOT
Red is a shade that many people think they can’t wear, but it is just about finding their suitable shade! Fair, cool skin tones looks best with warm, intense red shades. Warmer skin tones look best with auburn tints of red. Why not take a chance and go red for Spring? Isla Fisher’s natural redhead and golden skin combination is one of our favorites!
ROOTED BLONDE
Who would have thought that having your roots show would be one of the latest trends in hair? Well, don’t worry if you can’t make it to the salon in a bit ladies, blonde hair with sprouting roots is totally cute. When you get a chance to hit the salon, just ask your stylist to blend in the harsh lines for you so you can go a bit longer in between salon visits and still have your hair look natural! We love Drew Barrymore’s youthful, natural look!
UBTLE HIGHLIGHTS
Adding some subtle highlights to your hair can benefit anybody’s look! It will bring life into your hair and create some extra dimension. Focusing the highlights on where the sun would naturally hit you is the best way to place them, which your stylist will do! There a few little things to consider when choosing a new hair style for yourself that will help you pick a look that will make you look your best! Step #1: Determine your length based on your face shape
Choosing the most flattering length for you is highly based on your face shape! You can easily determine your face shape based on the photos included below, and after you have done that, you are open to world of possibilities when it comes to hairstyles! A few examples of flattering lengths for each face shape are as follows:
Oval: For a short cut, try out a short, angular bob with chin-length layers like Keira Knightley. On the long side, go for a sleek, shoulder-length blowout like Ashley Greene!
Round: For a short cut, go for some spiky layers like Ginnifer Goodwin! If long hair is more your speed, go for long layers that hit around your jaw-line like Selena Gomez.

We always talk about the ladies over here on the blog, so it was definitely time to let the guys shine for a moment! Men’s hair styles are not talked about online nearly as much as women’s hairstyles, and we have one particular men’s style that we would like to harp on today- the man bun! We have all seen it and heard about it, and this style is definitely one of those “love it or hate it” sort of styles. From surfer dudes to Hollywood stars, this hairstyle is making girls swoon, so let’s jump in to how you can get the perfect man bun!
The first step in achieving the perfect man bun is obviously having hair that is long enough to go into a bun. Once your hair hits about shoulder length or a bit above, you should be able to get most of your hair into some form of a bun. Growing out your hair can be a chore, but just be sure to keep it healthy and moisture to maximize growth and speed up the process as much as possible. If you choose to have long hair then you really have to make the commitment to take care of your mane, otherwise it won’t be worth the hassle.
Next, there are a few different types of man buns you can choose from. Those with long, this hair can go for the full-on swirly bun, but those whose hair is not as long can maybe go for more of a “loop” style. You want to be aware of the placement of your man bun on your head. Too low looks strange as well as too high. Typically, a man bun sits at the back of the head, slightly lower than the crown. However with confidence and the right thickness and texture, you can rock your bun wherever you choose. To give your bun more of a hold, adding a styling product such as a gel or a mouse can really help to hold your hair in place! There is nothing more annoying than having to re-do your bun over and over again through out the day. Trust the ladies on that one, guys!
